My name is Jacey and I'm a lover of fiber, fabric, summer and dogs.  I make stuff. My idea of a great day is sitting outside in the sunshine, knitting, drinking a beer, and listening to an audiobook while Maggie, my dog, naps nearby.

Some relevant and not-so relevant random info:

How long have you been knitting?  Sewing? 

I’ve been knitting for about 10 years now…not counting the times when my mom tried to teach me to knit while I was growing up.  My first completed project I can remember was a red, green and white garter stitch scarf.  They were my school colours (truth!) and it just ended up looking like a really bad Christmas gift?  I’ve been sewing for about the same amount of time and started off making chenille baby blankets, which are great for practicing sewing nice, straight lines.

What kind of sewing machine do you have?

Well, for starters, I have way too many machines!  My main machine is a Pfaff Smarter C10…we have a complex relationship.  My other machines are a Singer Featherweight, Singer 237, Pfaff 130 and an intro Kenmore machine.  Believe it or not, I still love my cheap Kenmore and it's my main backup.  It can plow through anything.  Hands down, I  prefer the mechanical machines if you’re not a quilter or into embroidery.  I also have a Brother 134D serger.

What’s your favourite thing to knit?

I’m definitely a garment knitter, but do enjoy lace knitting and always have a pair of socks on the needles.

What’s your favourite colour?

I love them all!!!  I tend towards greys and purples.  Any of the jewel tones will also win me over.

What’s your favourite movie?

Bridgette Jones’ Diary.  It’s my visual comfort food.

Do you ever sell the articles you make? 

You bet!  I also do commission sewing.
